You’ve learned how to hold it all together. This can be a space where you don’t have to.

Trauma-informed counselling and somatic therapy grounded in nervous system healing, culturally responsive care, and relational safety.

When the mind and body begin to work together, the way you relate to yourself and others begins to shift. - Nisha Trivedi

How this support works

If you’re here, it means a part within you is ready for a different way of being.

You may have found ways to keep functioning, even when something inside feels strained or distant. Over time, that way of coping can begin to feel exhausting or no longer sustainable.

In this work, instead of trying to push past, we begin by gently bringing awareness to what is already present in your body, your thoughts, and your relational world, without pressure to fix or perform. You are invited to notice and to move at a pace that supports your nervous system.

This work allows something different to take shape, at a pace that feels manageable for you.

I offer trauma-informed counselling and somatic therapy in Brisbane, with in person sessions locally and online therapy available across Australia.

Embodied Healing is not a finish line. It is a return to clarity, presence, and inner safety.

You are not here to become someone else. You are invited to come home to yourself.

Care that honours your cultural, relational, and lived experience.

You might be navigating:

  • Burnout that persists despite doing all the “right” things

  • Fertility grief or loss that feels difficult to name or share

  • Losses that are both visible and invisible, including the quiet grief that comes when your identity, roles, or sense of self begin to shift

  • Cultural or intergenerational experiences that shape how you relate to yourself and others

  • A sense of emotional disconnection, even in relationships that matter to you

  • Life transitions that ask more of you than you expected

Hi, I’m Nisha. I’m a trauma informed counsellor and somatic therapist based in Brisbane, offering both in person and online sessions across Australia.

I didn’t come to this work through textbooks alone. My path has been shaped by grief, cultural displacement, high functioning survival, and the quiet ache of carrying too much for too long. I’m a woman who’s lived what I now support others to move through.

I know what it’s like to feel unseen. To hold strength outwardly while bracing on the inside. To carry the weight of intergenerational, cultural, and spiritual wounding and still keep showing up.

New Leaf with Nisha is shaped by both my professional training and my lived, embodied experience. Having navigated personal, collective, and intergenerational trauma, I hold space with cultural humility and deep respect, creating a place where your story is met with recognition, care and understanding.

You’re welcome to speak with me in English, Hindi, or Gujarati, whichever feels most natural to you.

My approach focuses on the whole person and ecological factors. During our work together, we will explore what’s happening in your inner world as well as the cultural, relational, and systemic influences that have shaped your nervous system, identity, and coping patterns.

This is a space for the part of you that’s tired of performing. The part ready to come home to yourself with care, safety, and no pressure to be anything but who you are.

You’re welcome to begin from exactly where you are.

At New Leaf with Nisha, I offer a grounded space to nurture your well-being, support authentic connection, and inspire personal growth.

My approach empowers you to come home to yourself, strengthen your relationships, and move through life with greater clarity, emotional safety, trust and purpose.

My Holistic, Trauma-Informed Approach

These pillars, as below, support a therapeutic space that honours your full humanity, including your body, mind, culture, and story.

  • I see you as a whole person, not just stories or symptoms. Together, we explore how your emotional, physical, relational, and spiritual experiences shape your feelings, healing, and connections. This approach honors all parts of you, promoting understanding and growth toward well-being.

  • Healing starts in safe relationships, with others and yourself. Together, we’ll explore early attachment wounds and build your trust, emotional safety, and connection. As my client, you are the expert of your life. I honour your insight, pace, and readiness as we explore relational patterns with care.

  • I create a warm and supportive environment where you don’t have to perform, fix anything, or prove yourself. This is your space to breathe and simply be, allowing you to reconnect with yourself and what truly resonates with you. You are welcome here just as you are.

  • We go beyond talk therapy. I integrate somatic counselling, body-based practices, and nervous system education to help you regulate, release, and reconnect with your innate sense of emotional safety.

  • Your story, identity and lived experiences matter. I practice with cultural humility and an awareness that healing is never one-size-fits-all. You are the expert of your own experience, and your voice leads the way.

TRAUMA IS NOT A DISEASE;

It’s a protective and adaptive response to past experiences.

The impact of trauma can leave lasting imprints on our emotions, thoughts, bodies, sense of self, and relationships, often shaping how we navigate the present, even without conscious awareness.
