Individual Counselling Online Across Australia
Individual counselling offers a dedicated space to explore the experiences, relationships, losses and life circumstances that may be influencing how you feel, relate, cope and respond today.
At New Leaf with Nisha, I offer trauma-informed individual counselling online across Australia. My approach is relational and attachment-aware, drawing on psychodynamic understanding and, where useful, somatic therapy. Together, we can explore both the experiences you can readily name and those that are harder to make sense of.
I Commonly Support Clients With:
• relational trauma, attachment wounds, and difficult relationship patterns
• people pleasing, self-abandonment, and patterns of over-responsibility
• emotional caregiving, parentification, and feeling responsible for everyone else's needs
• being highly capable while privately exhausted, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself
• grief and loss, including disenfranchised, intergenerational, and reproductive grief
• fertility experiences, IVF, pregnancy loss, and involuntary childlessness
• workplace stress, perfectionism, burnout, and emotional exhaustion
• life transitions, identity shifts, migration experiences, and cultural expectations
• loneliness, belonging, and cultivating meaningful connection
Patterns, Loss and the Experiences That Shape Us
The ways we relate to ourselves and others do not develop in isolation. Relationships, family systems, culture, loss, significant life experiences and the roles we have learned to occupy can all shape how we respond to challenge, connection, conflict, uncertainty and care.
Some forms of grief are deep but not always visible to others. There may be no death, no clear ending and no shared language for what has been lost. Grief can be present in a relationship that changed, a hoped-for future that did not happen, fertility or reproductive experiences, migration and belonging, a role or identity that shifted, or something important that was never fully acknowledged. These losses can be deeply felt even when they are not immediately understood or recognised as grief.
Individual counselling at New Leaf with Nisha provides a collaborative space to explore these influences and the patterns that may have developed around them.
Rather than viewing these patterns as problems to eliminate, our work begins with understanding how they developed, what they may have helped you manage, and the circumstances in which they first became necessary.
This means making room for what has happened without rushing to judge, label or pathologise it.
Therapy is not about becoming someone different. It can create possibilities for relating differently to yourself, your experiences and the patterns that may no longer serve you in the same way while making space for grief, meaning, connection and what may still be unfolding.
