At New Leaf with Nisha, Trauma Centre for Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) offers a gentle, evidence informed approach for those navigating trauma, PTSD, grief, and emotional overwhelm.

Unlike traditional yoga, TCTSY is not about performance, flexibility, or getting poses right. It is about noticing, making choices, and exploring your experience on your own terms. Grounded in clinical research and offered with cultural humility, this somatic approach supports connection with your body through movement, choice, and present moment awareness.

As a TCTSY Certified Facilitator, Center for Trauma and Embodiment and trauma-informed Counsellor, I bring therapeutic presence, professional training, and lived experience to this work. Whether you are seeking support for grief, trauma, emotional overwhelm, or the lasting impact of difficult life experiences, this space honours your pace, your story, and your autonomy.

While talking and making sense of our experiences remain important parts of healing, some aspects of grief, trauma, stress, and adversity can also be carried physically. Trauma Sensitive Yoga complements counselling by creating opportunities to explore movement, sensation, and choice alongside conversation. Together, these approaches can support a deeper understanding of how experiences continue to affect us emotionally, relationally, and physically.

Embodied Rest may support you with:

• Rebuilding a sense of safety and connection within your body

• Softening patterns of hypervigilance, tension, and disconnection

• Restoring your relationship with sensation, breath, and present moment awareness

• Supporting emotional integration following trauma, grief, and significant life experiences

• Exploring movement, choice, and agency in a supportive and collaborative environment

• Cultivating trust in your own experience without pressure, performance, or judgement

Is Trauma Sensitive Yoga Right for Me?

Trauma Sensitive Yoga may be a supportive option if you are seeking a gentle, body aware approach alongside counselling, or if you are curious about exploring how your experiences may be held physically as well as emotionally.

No prior yoga experience is required.

This practice is not about achieving particular outcomes or performing movements in a certain way. Instead, it offers opportunities to notice, explore, and reconnect with yourself at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of where you are today.
